Prototying Tools

Posted in Technology by Nimi @ Nov 27, 2008

Protoshare is a web-based programme that lets web designers and producers create interactive wireframes and share them with other workers and clients in real-time. By allowing you to build clickable wireframes, programmes like Protoshare make it easier for reviewers to accurately assess a working model of the site. It also lets them participate during the production process which hopefully will cut down “can you just re-do this” time.

In the wire frames you can include dynamic menus, insert images and working links. Also because it is entirely web-based you don’t need to install any software. This also makes it a great tool when working with teams and clients spread across the globe.

There are several other similar prototyping products that have come up including Axure and iRise.

With the massive increase in You Tube users; not only browsing but uploading their own content and hosting channels Google has now opened up the video sharing platform to a PPC (Pay per Click) advertising scheme similar to it’s Adwords technology. You Tube Sponsored Video will allow advertisers to display their video’s along side search results like PPC Advertising in Search Engines. The system allows you to place bids on search terms and set daily budget caps as you would do in your Adwords account.

The exponential growth of YouTube and the vast audience range it offers has many advertisers drooling and PPC on YouTube will not doubt feature in many media plans in 2009. Find out more about how PPC on You Tube works at the Google Blog.

N A W L Z – Interactive Comic Book

Posted in Technology by Nimi @ Nov 11, 2008

Australian artist Sutu in conjunction with Flash designer Wayne Harris of Isntmedia developed NAWLZ.com as an experiment in interactive storytelling. For them the graphic novel is not confined to tangible books but does have a valuable place online. Whilst the internet tends to dismantle linear site navigation with multitudes of hyperlinks and online users develop their own paths through a matrix of sites, Nawlz reclaims control of users navigation and directs you through linear comic – you can navigate back and forth but this is not a
