Going Digital

In today’s world, many companies are making an effort to be more environmentally friendly by giving customers the option to go paperless.  This is a great way to reduce the amount of paper waste created by things such as telephone, cable, and internet bills.  I recently created a profile with my cell phone company and can now view my monthly statements online which is definitely more convenient for me, while saving a few trees in the meantime.

This is a great method to improve future correspondence, but what about all the existing documents that you have on your desk or filed away in your office?!? Previously, the only way to transfer items to your hard drive was through bulky, desktop scanners that were anchored to your workspace and didn’t always achieve the desired results.  That was the past.

Here is the future…

Introducing Doxie, the new, USB powered, modern paper scanner that claims “it’ll revolutionize the way you think about sharing and storing docs and photos forever.”

Doxie has a ‘Heart Button’ for one touch scanning and sharing, along with a ‘Devices’ button for iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.  It comes with software for simple scanning and direct cloud sharing and offers direct integration with desktop and web apps such as Google docs, flickr, Evernote, Scribd, iPhoto, Adobe Acrobat, and Twitter. Documents can be saved as PDF, JPEG or lossless PNG files.

The scanner itself is extremely portable with carrying case included, and is fully automatic.  It’s as easy as plugging in, pressing a button and you will have PDF digital copy in seconds.  It retails for $129 and at that price it seems affordable for any office.
